Cosmic Matter 2007

"Astronomy meets Astroparticle Physics" will be the motto of this year's annual symposium of the Astronomische Gesellschaft, held jointly with the biennial workshop on astroparticle physics in Germany of the Komitee für Astroteilchenphysik. Under the common theme of  "Cosmic Matter", astronomers and astroparticle physicists will have the opportunity to exchange their research results in a rapidly advancing field. Results will be put into perspective by discussing the visionary roadmaps for astronomy and astroparticle physics on the European level, resulting from the activities of Astronet and Aspera. A special attraction will be the information desks set up by funding agencies (DFG, BMBF, HGF, ESO).
80th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Astronomische Gesellschaft jointly with the 5th biennial Workshop on Astroparticle Physics
Welcome!
There will be parallel sessions on the following topics:
  1.  Splinter A: Multi-Messenger Cosmic Particles (Bluemer et al.)
  2.  Splinter B: LBT: Its Instrumentation and Key Science Projects (Strassmeier & Herbst)
  3.  Splinter C: The Evolution of the Interstellar Medium over Cosmic Time (Walter & Bertholdi)
  4. Splinter E: Numerical Astrophysics (Klingenberg & Iapichino)
  5.  Splinter F: Active Galactic Nuclei (Haas et al.)
  6.  Splinter H: Dark Matter and Neutrinos (Jochum)
  7.  Splinter I: Dark Energy in the Universe (Bartelmann)

The symposium will be hosted by the University of Würzburg at its Hubland campus and at the historical "Neubaukirche" from 1586 where the award ceremonies will take place.

  1. Looking forward to seeing you in Würzburg
